Magnetized wood is categorized as an advanced material derived from low-density/fast-growing species that has been impregnated with nano-magnetite, making it capable of being attracted to a magnet. How is it produced? First, the preparation of an impregnation solution from a mixture of nano-magnetite and impregnant. Second, to ensure the impregnant homogeny, the impregnation solution is stirred using an ultrasonicator. Third, the wood impregnation process is carried out to produce magnetized wood. Magnetized wood has advantages such as higher dimensional stability of the wood and, most importantly, the ability to be attracted to a magnet. Magnetized wood can be used as heating insulation and an electromagnetic absorber.
