Purple, IPB Student Perfume Product Made From Kenanga and Nutmeg to Strengthen Couple Harmony

Essential oil is one of Indonesia’s commodities that can be developed into various products, one of which is perfume products. Perfume products made from essential oils are safer for the body than perfumes that use synthetic fragrances. Perfumes made from synthetic fragrances will endanger health because they contain neurotoxins that are carcinogenic and can cause cancer. Perfume has the benefit of providing a fragrant aroma for the body. Perfume containing essential oils can provide an aromatherapy effect that can relax and help the body be physically and mentally healthy. Perfume derived from essential oils can affect the emotions and mood of the wearer.

Molecules derived from perfumes containing essential oils can enter the nose and bloodstream. The molecules will enter the hypothalamus gland and go to the pituitary gland and stimulate the release of neurotransmitters. The release of serotonin, adrenaline, excitocin and endorphins can affect an individual’s psychology such as pleasure, anxiety, hunger, and sexual desire. Scent also has the ability to stimulate a person’s memories related to romantic events of each couple. The scent is used as a medium in recalling memories that have existed and has full control to convey messages to the brain and heart, so this fragrance can be used to restore the mood of each couple.

“The perfume that we use everyday can provide its own memories for people who smell the aroma or evoke our memories of that person through aroma, this is called memory recall. Memory recall of good memories with a partner can increase the harmony of the couple,” said Dewi Aurora Angelia (Rora).

Scent has an important role in communication events because it involves various things such as tastes, memories, and interests.
